DIY Chalk Paint / Food Jar makeover
So you all loved my IGTV the other day with my DIY chalk paint recipe and little jar make over! It is such a simple little make over that you can do on so many things laying around the home. Its a perfect isolation project, because who doesn’t have some old paint and jars laying around!
Ill make this simple and short, and you can always refer back to my video IGTV for reference, ill link it for you.
DIY CHALK PAINT MAKEOVER
You will need:
*Paint – sample pots, left over from other projects etc
I used paint from my doll house make over, 5 different tins.
I used 1/1 – 1 cup of each colour.
*Bicarb Soda – I used 2.5 TSP per colour
*Bowls/trays for mixing
*Popsicle sticks/spoons for mixing
*Foam brushes for painting
*Baby food jars/pasta jars/pots etc
(The options are endless for what you can paint)
*Eucalyptus oil for removing labels and sticky residue on jars
*Jute rope / string

HOW TO:
1. Clean jars and make sure to remove labels and sticky residue using the eucalyptus oil and paper towel.
2. Mix your paint and bicarb soda together in a bowl or tray. You can adjust amounts depending on what your painting. I used 1/2 – 1 cup of paint mixed with 2.5 TSP of bicarb soda and have lots left over. I did this for each colour.
3. Paint onto your jar or item you are wanting to make over using your foam brush.
4. Let dry and give it a second coat. I did 2 coats on these jars but you could do as many as you like to give it desired texture.
5. Once dry you can use Jute rope/string to tie around neck of jar to make them hang.
AND YOUR DONE!
THIS IS A REALLY EASY AND SIMPLE DIY MAKE OVER!
HOPE YOU LOVE! LOU xx
