Hazel’s Room Makeover 2.0
It has been 9 months since Hazel’s last room makeover and I got the itch to do it again! I absolutely love restyling the kids spaces, and I just love seeing their excited little faces when they see it all finished. Absolute joy! Its just so special!
I have fallen in love with peach tones, so this time I knew thats where I would start! Inspired by the colours in the beautiful Bonnie & Harlo floral!
Firstly I picked out paints for our dollhouse makeover, and decided to use the same peach colour for Hazel’s wall colour. This was Dulux Unbleached Calico Half – Low Sheen. Its a perfect peach for those wondering. I am really happy with it. I painted her feature wall, and decided to do a second wall the same colour.
The next step was choosing Decals, I was working closely with Danella the owner and creator over at Sailah Lane , She was creating her Happy Flowers decals and they were the perfect fit. Originally we were going with the Sorbet colour way, but then decided to go Mustard for something different. And I LOVEEEE them!
I then chose out the bigger pieces… The rug, canopy, bedding and all of the smaller items just fell into place. Of course most of the furniture items were thrifted or found on marketplace, I always find that part the most fun. I will share all the exact details below.
As Hazel is turning 4 in a few short months, i wanted to focus on more storage space for her to have some toys in her room and make it easy for her to pack up. The cubes under her dollhouse are easy to access and their are 3 under bed storage boxes as well. Everything has wooden labels to make it easy for her to know what goes where.. (And for dad too!).
The fun of Covid did manage to delay things of course, with shipping times of some items taking weeks. I also had a beautiful friend step in to help with some pieces when some businesses fell out. But we got there in the end and Hazel is just in love with this special space. Its definitely a space she can grow with as well.
THRIFTED PIECES
As I have mentioned, I love op shopping and buying second hand through facebook marketplace! Not only do you find amazing and unique pieces; its also affordable and great for our environment. Op shops, facebook marketplace, our local pay it forward page and gumtree are my go to!
