Maternity I recommend booking your date around 33-35 weeks as this is usually when your belly is in its prime without feeling too uncomfortable.

Newborns – I tentatively book your session using your EDD and once bub arrives I get you to contact me ASAP so we can set a date ideally between 5-10 days old. (The earlier the better with newborns).

(Depending on how you and bub are feeling of course – please contact me as soon as bub arrives to set a session date.)

*If you have a booked C-Section or Induction date we can book dates in advance if this is your preference

Time – I recommend a morning session – usually around 9 or 10am start works really well for newborns and toddler siblings

* SESSION LENGTH – Usually 1.5 – 2 hours – (However given the nature of settling bubs, feeding, emotions of big siblings I always allow up to 3 hours for these sessions to make sure we capture everything.)

Sunrise –  Start Time will greatly depend on the time of the year. I will start my sunrises around approx.  4am – 6.30am. The sun rises earlier in the summer months and later in the winter months.

* Session Length – Approximately 45 – 60 minutes depending on the lighting, clouds and how quickly the rise is on your booked day – these are all unpredictable factors.

They are both beautiful sessions.

*Sunrises can be incredibly fast pased at times and are more suited to Solo Maternity, Couples Maternity or Motherhood with one kiddie.

*They are absolutely stunning, bright and have the most beautiful sun flares over the ocean.

*Sunrises also do have a greater chance of better weather and less wind. (Usually)

*There is usually next to no traffic.

*Its such a beautiful and refreshing way to start the day, Sunrises are just special.

*Sunsets usually allow a bit more time when working with families or more then one child.
*The sun will set and shine over the beautiful grassy dunes, then if the weather is great – we will end up with a pastel sky to finish – over the ocean.

*Perfect for people who are not early risers.

*Sunset is more prone to rain and wind (Which will need rescheduling) – Its usually a bit calmer through the winter months.

*Traffic can sometimes get a little hectic around Sunset Time – So travel is usually longer. I personally like to avoid Fridays for sunsets.
